Dala Horse Factory at the Hemslöjd 

An 8 Wonder of Kansas! Customs winner. Hemslöjd (pronounced hem-sloyd) means "handicraft". Hemslöjd, Inc. opened in 1984 at the north end of downtown Lindsborg, Kansas, "Little Sweden, U.S.A." At the workshop they make, decorate and personalize Dala Horse-shaped signs. 201 N. Main St.

Artists’ Open House 

This highly anticipated annual event is open to the public. Meet the local artists as they open up their studios for you to experience. First Saturday in December; various locations; sponsored by the Red Barn Studio, 212 S. Main St.

Self-Guided Public Art Tour 

The 100 and 200 block of S. Main St. and the 100 block of N. Main St. are hosts to 47 works of art from artists both past and present. Look for paintings, the Wild Dala herd, sculptures, wind vanes, murals, iron works and tiles. There is even a Sandzén in the Post Office. Church Art 

In a community equally dedicated to religion and art, it is no surprise the churches are full of original paintings replicating Biblical stories such as the “Ascension” and “Jesus Walks on the Water.” G.N. Malm and Birger Sandzén are among the artists who created timeless pieces that transcend. Various locations.

Jultide Concert 

The Bethany College Choir and the Handbell Ensemble come together for a memorable evening in December. Check the Calendar of Events for date. Located at Presser Hall on the Bethany College campus, 335 E. Swensson.

Various musical concerts at Presser Hall 

Lindsborg’s founding fathers and the Lindsborg community of today are dedicated to higher learning and to love of the arts. Central to the community is Bethany College, a private liberal arts college. Almost all concerts performed at Presser Hall are open and free to the public. 335 E. Swensson.


Chamber Orchestra of the Smoky Valley

Four concerts in the calendar year. The COSV is a unique, auditioned regional ensemble of professional musicians supported by Bethany College and the Lindsborg Arts Council. Under the musical direction of Keith Dodson, Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Instrumental Studies, the COSV seeks to educate and engage audience members through the performance of orchestral masterworks.
